Interview with one of our invitees, Vesztl Fanni - 5th June, Tuesday (interview)

B.K : You are one accomplished industrial art graduate and did I hear correct that you answered no way, when they questioned the usefulness of your university education in your day to day artistic endeavour?
V.F : Yes, indeed it is a true fact that the influence of my eductaion was minimal on my day to day creative work, but rather helped  in nudging me towards a mellowed work of art.

B.K : You said that you just tried to follow the directions offered by your university?
V.F : Yes, indeed! I did receieve many criticisms and comments about my work which embodied my many colored personality on my work of art  and  later endeavoured to produce a little more subdued work of art. Initially I was not even selected at the Industrial art university and hence I joined the fine arts school at Pecs where i did recieve wonderful practical training. I felt later at the Industrial Arts University that I already knew about the subjects that they were trying to teach me and had only just enough time to complete the projects within the allotted time.

B.K : I understand that after your university, you felt it was indeed time for your artisitc freedom and your freedom of artisitic expression? Am I right?
V.F: Yes, two years after finishing the university, I registered myself with Meska initially only with my paintings about birds which i drew during my school days! Latwer I had also uploaded my jewelries and the other work of art thereby increasing my offering. From then on, I just make art based on my own ideas and my artisitc abilities.

B.K: You have collection of painting based on collage, feather and akvarell technique based on textile and also have other jewelry items in your collection. Do you get inquiries from customers with very special needs?
V.F:  Yes, But these unique inquiries are mainly focused on the very special theme based paintings.

B.K: Do you also experience unique demands in your other work of Arts too?
V.F: Sometimes ! But I do not encourage drawing of fairy tale figures as that to me is just copying!

B.K: What was your experience with online marketing?
V.F: Though my work of art is displayed in four shops across Budapest, the main selling happens through the internet shopping.

B.K: During the interaction , you had mentioned that you are happy with your earnings as you are still single and do not have children! Do you foresee a future where you would like to grow your business which gioves you a real financial security and also grow artisitcally ? what would be your stepy towards that direction?
V.F: It would be wonderful if my paintings could be used as illustrations in books. But this could be achieved only with good connections with the publishers and recognition in the market. My father writes fairy tales, but needs more support from the publishers.

B.K: What steps are you taking right now to grow artisitically?
V.F: I need to find a way to reach more buyers so as to achieve that critical mass! Summer is approaching and I would like to participate in more bazaars to promote my products! I feel that i do not have the necessary personality to do the talk in a bazaar as most of the time I feel out of place in bazaar environment!

B.K: Guess you just need some courage and confidence to talk about your products  as for example you can start with your favourite color and then move on to explain your work more confidently after making the foundation of the conversation.
V.F : Yes, I was also thinking on that line of technique, but just got to practice more.

B.K : All the very best to you and wish you a very good summer! Thank you very much for talking to me!

I bid farewell to Fanni after choosing for myself a very lively and colorful summer broach!
